Our books are incredibly popular, and we get a lot of questions about them. This article will answer some frequently asked questions which don’t fit in a full article of their own.
How long does the book process take?
Your book will be printed within 3-5 working days of either your results being released or your order being placed through the online account.
Will I get updates on the book?
You’ll get an email to confirm your order, and a shipping confirmation when the book is on it way to you.
What happens if my book is lost in the post?
While we make every effort to get books shipped to you promptly, sometimes there are delays or mistakes within the postal service. If this happens, please get in touch with us.
What if I find a problem with my book?
We’re very proud of the work put into the book, and have full faith in our printing partners, but we are only human so mistakes can happen. If you think you have found an error in the book - either in the content or the printing - please let us know as soon as possible so that we can investigate.
Can I order a book for someone else?
Yes! What a thoughtful gift. If you’re ordering the book with a kit, you can then give this straight to the person you’d like to surprise. If you’d like to order a book for someone who already has results, you will need to be a manager of their test results and can place the order through your online account.
How much does the book cost?
Prices are region-dependent, and shown in the currency of the region listed:

If my results get updated with new or different regions, can I get a new book for free/a discount?
We’re really sorry, but the updates are for the online results only. If you are lucky enough to have an update to your results and would like a new book to reflect this, you can purchase once through your online account.
Is the book hardback or paperback?
The newly re-designed book is now a hardback coffee-table book.
Can I have a preview of my book?
There are photos of the book on our website, and in your online account when you purchase. We can’t offer a preview of the personalised book at this time.
How can I pay for the book?
Whether you purchase through the website with a kit, or through your online account after you’ve received your results, you will be able to pay using a credit or debit card, or with PayPal.
I uploaded my data - can I buy a book?
Yes and no. If have purchased the full ancestry upgrade for your recent ancestry results, and can see the regional breakdown of your ancestry rather than the continental view, you can buy a book through your online account. If you do not have a regional breakdown in your account, we can’t offer the book at the moment.
