Living DNA is working with leading academic research partners on projects that will benefit society. We would love for you to be involved. By opting into our research program, you can help us map the world's genetic history at the finest level possible. Full details of research projects will be made available in the Research section of the Living DNA portal.
You can find this page and opt-in to research by logging in, then clicking your name at the top right of the page to open the menu.
Select Profiles to choose which DNA profile you'd like to participate in research - you can choose as many as you'd like, but will need to follow this process individually for each one.
Clicking the arrow (‘>’) on the right-hand side of the profile will open it, allowing you to adjust the settings.
Scroll down to ‘permissions’, and look for ‘research’. If it says ‘participating’, you’re already taking part!
If it says ‘not participating’, click on the arrow to read about the research project, opt-in, and enter your details.
Once you’ve selected ‘yes’, you will be asked to enter some information about your grandparents - their names, and when and where they were born. Don’t worry if you don’t have the dates or cities. While it helps to have as much information as possible, you can leave this part blank if you’re not sure.
Once you’ve entered all of the information you have, please scroll right to the bottom and click on ‘save’. If you do not click on ‘save’ the information will not enter our systems.
