How Do I Participate in Research?
At Living DNA, we partner with leading academic researchers to explore the world’s genetic history in greater detail, and we would love for you to be involved. By joining our research program, you’ll contribute valuable insights that help advance science and benefit society. Full details of research projects will be made available in the Research section of the Living DNA portal.
How to Opt In
- Log in to your Living DNA account at my.livingdna.com
- Click your name in the top-right corner to open the menu, and select ‘Profiles’.
- Choose the DNA profile you want to enrol in research. (If you have multiple profiles, repeat these steps for each one individually.)
- Scroll down to the ‘Permissions’ section and find ‘Research’:
- If it says ‘Participating’, you're already enrolled.
- If it says ‘Not Participating’, click ‘Edit’ to learn more and opt in.
- Select ‘Yes’ to participate. You’ll be asked to enter details about your grandparents (such as names, birth dates, and birthplaces). Don’t worry if you’re unsure - just provide as much information as you can.
- Important: Scroll to the bottom and click ‘Save Changes’ to finalise your enrolment. Without saving, your information won’t be recorded.
Thank You for Contributing!
By opting in, you’re directly supporting genetic research and helping refine our understanding of ancestry. Your participation makes a meaningful impact, and we truly appreciate your support. If you ever want to update your preferences, you can return to the Permissions section at any time.
