Researching your family history can take you through many twists and turns. It’s what is so exciting and gripping about genealogical research.
With our updates we aim to provide more refined results. As we increase our reference data panel we get a more reflective and representative understanding of different regional populations and can make better predictions.
We have replaced our previous standard, complete and cautious views with one complete view, which provides more accuracy. This could mean the small percentages you previously had are absent in your results since the update.
You may see large changes to your results. As we add new samples to our reference panels this could be because a single individual in that panel that's even a very distant relative can be enough to dramatically change these assignments.
Most of the time these changes should make our results more accurate, but it’s also possible for them to cause results to diverge from your paper trail, we may even be taking you back further than your paper trail.
