If you've updated your results following a Panel Update, you might notice that your results look very different. Our data set can expand dramatically with a panel update, which means that in addition to being more accurate due to its size, the panel becomes more representative of different regional populations.
We are then able to ‘tidy up’ the small percentages you may have had in the previous version of your results, which are what we call ‘noise’ - small amounts of DNA which we previously weren't sure where to put, and end up in a 'best guess' category.
New updates have allowed us to filter out populations that we are not confident in being true, creating a more focused representation of results. This may result in populations with small percentages (usually 5% or less) being absent from the updated results.
