What is an update and how is it done?

Behind the scenes here at Living DNA HQ, the science team have been working really hard, with a little help from our customers who have opted in to our research programme.

If you’ve opted in to our research, we have used your data to build a bigger and more reflective reference data set, which means we can be even more confident in our predictions to you. We can refine your previous results, hopefully cleaning up the small percentages that were not reflective of your ancestry and giving you a far more precise picture of your personal history. 

We have been studying genetic data from people who have a known paper trail of grandparents living in the same region to build a new, much bigger, and more robust panel which in turn is more representative of different regional populations.
