What regulations are we governed by?
GDPR - This was introduced to protect your personal data and is part of the reason you have full control over what we do with your information -from setting up your account to providing your results.
At the heart of how we protect your information is our commitment to International Standards set by ISO. We are certified to ISO:9001 for quality controls and ISO:27001 for information security. As part of our ISO accreditation, audits and reviews are conducted of all relevant third-party service providers to check that they meet our strict requirements. We use a combination of technical, physical and organisational measures to protect the security of your information.
Processing your data
We aim to be transparent about what we’re going to do with your data, how we use it and why, whether you wish to upload multiple tests to discover new relatives or you want to take one of our Living DNA tests. Our leading physical and cybersecurity methods ensure your safety at all times, from initial sample collection all the way through to viewing your results.
We generally process your personal data for one of the following purposes:
- Complete kit purchase(s).
- Create an account and register a kit(s) to that account.
- Market and advertise our products and promotions.
- Perform website maintenance, usage, and analytics, as well as network and infrastructure security.
Third-party partners
We occasionally partner with third party suppliers in order to boost the products and services that we can offer you. All third party suppliers undergo a rigorous selection process to ensure that they comply with our very high standards of privacy and data security. Most importantly you decide on which third parties have access to your data before they are granted access and you can change your mind at any time.
We will always act in accordance with the law however we do not freely open up our database to any third party including law enforcement.
Deleting your data
As part of our partnership with you, we want to give you the right to be forgotten and to delete your data in its entirety. So that we can ensure the highest level of care is taken when we receive such a request, we will always discuss your personal needs with you. If you wish to discuss the deletion of your data or Living DNA account please get in touch at help@livingdna.com and include the subject data deletion.
